As one of the most biodiverse regions in the world, is almost certain that while you are walking Costa Rica, you will see some amazing animals. Thanks to a rich tropical rainforest, and miles of beaches, there are plenty of opportunities to take a look at the exotic animals, with many different species that are offered for the living animal-observer. Costa Rica is home to more than 800 species of birds (more than 50 species of hummingbirds alone), 4 species of monkeys, two species of sloths, and more than 35,000 species of insects for dedicated entomologist to inspect. Here are some animals that they should try not to miss when walking Costa Rica.

Monkeys

Where there are forests, monkeys, and Costa Rica is no exception! Capuchin monkeys with their distinctive white faces can often be seen, and are generally moving from tree to tree through the highest branches - certainly a unique method of walking Costa Rica! A monkey can listen instead of watching the famous howler monkey, with its peculiar (and very loud) call. The howler monkey is also one of the largest monkeys in Costa Rica, reaching about three feet high, and are known to be strictly herbivores, while other monkeys can bite the occasional insect or two.

Frogs

The frog is a very important animal in Costa Rica - that have become as emblematic of the country, are recognized as national symbols of Costa Rica, and representations of frogs are very important in the culture of Costa Rica. They are both difficult and easy to see while walking Costa Rica: although many are colored in shades that blend with the surroundings of their forest, many species also have distinctive features that aid of a walker with eagle eyes to spot - as the famous "red-eyed tree frog '. One of the species , however, is much rarer than others. Once you are in all areas such as Monteverde, many now believe that the golden toad was extinct, although some optimists say the theory that the species is waiting for the perfect time to re-emerge.

Turtles

Well, the turtles can not be the animal that immediately comes to mind while walking to see Costa Rica. However, those who choose to walk near the sea at the right time can be rewarded with the sight of hundreds of turtles come ashore to lay eggs, or perhaps months later, the sight of hundreds of kids who leave the sand and find their way into the ocean. It definitely is a spectacular event, but will have to make special arrangements to visit a beach at night, and under supervision.
