Trip to Istanbul: alternative world-class destination for a holiday

Istanbul is a world capital. It is the only city in the world built on two continents. It had long coveted by powerful empires. First, was the capital of Byzantium, and later the Ottoman Empire. Everyone should visit at least once during life.

Istanbul stretches along the banks of the Bosporus (both sides) that links the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea. It is the largest city in Turkey with a population of more than $ 13 million. Istanbul described the heart of the Turkish economy.

Istanbul is an attractive destination for travel. Each year millions of tourists call in Istanbul. If you have enough time, my advice to you is to spend your holiday in Istanbul. Nowhere in the world you can experience life as it can in Istanbul.

Istanbul is also the capital of art and culture, besides being a combination of Eastern and Western cultures. Istanbul was Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010. Many actions are achievable based art, even during the holidays. Few of them are: opera and ballet, art exhibitions, auctions, theaters, concerts, festivals, conferences and museums only.

A large number of ancient structures of the above not only 13 or 14 centuries, but also still there. Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye Mosque and Sultanahmet Mosque is placed in Istanbul. The atmosphere is always perfect with its ancient ruins, vendors and brokers, department stores, ultra-modern shopping malls, bazaars, and skyscrapers. Many media and advertising agencies, corporations and banks have their headquarters in Istanbul.

Istanbul has two notable sides; European side and Asian side. The European side is divided in two by the Golden Horn or Halic, which almost cuts the historical part of old Istanbul, which spans, Sultanahmet and Laleli, from the modern city. It is crossed by a series of bridges, the greatest of which is the Galata Bridge. Asian side is also worthy to meet with their cultural competence and its relationship to other parts of Asia.

Getting around the city of Istanbul is easy. No problem if you choose to stay, does not take much time to get the most out of the city. The relevant sections of Istanbul (Sultanahmet Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Covered Bazaar) found a 30-minute walk from each other. It is tolerant to move on foot or using the tram, which provides regular service on major streets. Taxis are plentiful and, to some extent and there mingy 'dolmus' (shared taxi) and bus services. Most tour operators can design routes to visit the main monuments.

There are a number of hotels with experience in the Sultanahmet section, many of which are repaired Ottoman mansions. Turkish bath is well known in the world with its unique formula cultural purification. Turkey national foods are also worth trying. Turkish delight, Turkish raki (the national alcoholic drink) and national food aid are perfect.

Some of the best tourist places in Istanbul to visit include: Dolmabahce Palace, Topkapi Palace, Museum Panorama 1453, Islamic Science and Technology Museum, the Air Force Museum Byzantine Hippodrome, Taksim Square, Blue Mosque, the Mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent, the Ashkenazi Synagogue, Saint Antuan Church, Galata Spinning Dervish Hall, Anatolia Bazaar Fortaleza, Great Spice Market, Bosphorus, Princes Islands.
