South Africa Accommodation - 3 units Exciting Winelands

Winelands region is right in the backyard of Cape Town, and is one of the most beautiful places to visit in South Africa on holiday. It is a region of hills, valleys, endless vineyards and picturesque communities. If you do not have the time to see all this, any of the three scenic drives will provide an unforgettable experience Winelands.


If you want to stop and spend a night in any of the communities along the way, there are plenty of good hotels and guesthouses. The route crosses four passes and making four mountain ranges in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. It takes a full day, including stops for lunch and wine tasting. Leave the town on the N2 and follow in the Hottentots Holland Mountains via Sir Lowry's Pass. There are views of False Bay. Take the road to Franschhoek and Villiersdorp. It passes through the town of Grabouw and over the mountains of Greenland through Paso de los Viljoen. This will take you through valleys full of orchards, and beyond Theewaterskloof Dam. Turn right at a sign marked Franschhoek, and go up the mountains of Franschhoek in Franschhoek pass. There are great places to stop for lunch here. Unity in Stellenbosch through the picturesque Helshoogte Pass. In Boschendal can visit the Cape Dutch Manor House. The R310 will bring you back to the N2.

Breede River Valley

The second option for South African tour parties of the vineyards that have in the Breede River Valley. Take the N2 past Paarl and then take the spectacular Du Toit's Kloof Pass through the mountains. (If you're pressed for time, you can take the tunnel). Upon returning to Wolseley, take the R303 to Wellington through Bain's Kloof Pass, a route with spectacular scenery. From Wellington, follow the signs to Paarl and Franschhoek to return to the N2.

Coastal Route

One of the most spectacular drives everyone can take a vacation in South Africa along the spectacular coastal route from Cape Town to the city of Hermosillo. The road winds along cliffs that plunge into the ocean, where waves crash against the jagged rocks. Landscape views are unsurpassed anywhere in the world, and in season you have the opportunity to stop doing some whale watching. Hermanus is the whale watching capital of South Africa. In Hermanus you can turn off the road to Hemel in Aar
